Consultation FAQS
-
Parenting consultation is a professional service that offers expert advice, support, and strategies to address specific parenting concerns or challenges. Unlike therapy, which often focuses on deeper emotional or psychological issues, parenting consultation is designed to provide practical tools and solutions for immediate parenting needs.
While I am a clinical psychologist, I want to clarify that during a parenting consultation, I will not be providing therapeutic services. During our consultation session, my focus will be on understanding your needs and offering guidance, rather than diagnosing or treating any mental health concerns. If I think therapy might be beneficial for you, I'll encourage you to seek those services.
-
Parenting consultation is NOT a service that is covered by insurance.
-
The fee for an initial session (up to one hour) is $200.
For returning clients, the fee is $185 for a session up to one hour and $95 for a session up to 30 minutes.
-
Payment is due at the time of service, and I currently accept only debit and credit cards.
-
Please remember to cancel or reschedule appointments at least 24 hours in advance. This helps ensure that your reserved time can be offered to others who may need it. If you arrive late for a session, the time missed will be deducted from your appointment.
A late fee will apply for late cancellations or missed sessions, unless we both agree that the cancellation was due to circumstances beyond your control.
-
You do not! Unlike therapy, which is subject to state licensing regulations, I can offer parenting consultations to you regardless of where you live.
-
Sessions are conducted through a secure online platform, but if you prefer, we can also arrange a phone call. Both parents are welcome to join, either together or separately. However, it is in the best interest of the child to not be present during these sessions.
-
I support individuals through a range of parenting stages, from preparing for your first child to addressing concerns regarding your adult children.
How can you help me?
In my parenting consultations, I apply a brain-based and developmental approach to address your unique concerns. By understanding how brain development and early experiences shape behavior and emotional growth, I provide insights and strategies tailored to support your child’s cognitive, emotional, and social development.
